Yesterday marked the release of the French version of THE LAZARUS WAR: ARTEFACT! Published by L’Atalante, as LAZARE EN GUERRE: L’ARTEFACT, this has possibly the coolest version of my book cover ever…

I love this cover in so many ways. It has a really retro SF vibe going on, which is very LAZARUS WAR. The art style (and cover presentation generally) also reminds me of classic French SFF, and especially artists such as Moebius. The entire thing just really feels LAZARUS WAR.

I had nothing to do with the preparation of this cover (in comparison to say the UK and US versions, which I was heavily involved with), and the fact that the artist has created an image so close to my idea of a key scene from the book is really something. It’s definitely right up there with my favourite book covers for the series! Of course, I’ve also seen the cover to the Czech version of ARTEFACT (called ARTEFAKT), and that’s also a serious contender…

So, if you want to read ARTEFACT in French language, you can now pick up your copy from all good online and traditional booksellers! The sequel, LEGION, will be available soon.
