For those that don’t already know, the great Bill Paxton passed away last weekend. This is a tremendous loss to his family, and also the cinema and SF community.

Bill Paxton is probably best known for his “average Joe” film roles, and had the unquestionable accolade of being the only actor who has played a character killed by a predator, a terminator and an alien.

But although his seminal film role was probably as wise-cracking Colonial Marine Hudson, from James Cameron’s ALIENS, he also had major roles in TWISTER, APOLLO 13 and EDGE OF TOMORROW. His catchphrase from ALIENS – “Game over, man, game over” – has pretty much come to define the gung-ho space marine…
